Yesterday, we commemorated Juneteenth, a powerful reminder of the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans were granted freedom. More than a historic milestone, Juneteenth is a call to reflect, to learn, and to act.
This year, Corbin Advisors observed Juneteenth as a paid Volunteer Day, turning reflection into meaningful service.
At our HQ, we came together as a firm and watched a Special produced by PBS on this important National Holiday and partnered with United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut to build Literacy Kits for students ages 5 – 9 in underserved communities.
And from volunteering at a mobile food pantry in Charlotte, NC, to celebrating Black Art in Richmond, VA, Team Members across the country also took time to give back locally.
Rooted in our TAPE values – Trust, Accountability, Partnership, Excellence and Team, Appreciation, Passion, and Entrepreneurialism – and driven by our Love, Corbin commitment to community, we are proud to honor the spirit of Juneteenth through action. It was a mighty reminder of where we have come from and where we need to go.
A HUGE thank you to AJ and Lindsay, our Love, Corbin ambassadors, for all the planning, care, and passion you brought to bringing us together for an important cause!
