John has been a team member at Corbin Advisors since 2023
What is your role and responsibilities?
As a member of the finance and operations team, our mission is to enable colleagues to perform to the best of their abilities, with the right knowledge and tools, and without interruption.
In my finance role, I act as a strategic business partner across the organization. I work closely with the SLT, the business development team, and our client execution teams, connecting people with the insights they need to make informed decisions. Sitting at the center of Corbin’s operations allows us to serve as the organization’s “source of truth” for financial and operational performance and to help drive both strategic alignment and accountability.
Beyond core finance responsibilities such as budgeting, forecasting, and bookkeeping, we lead initiatives that influence our go‑to‑market approach and support operational excellence. Most importantly, we are educators, helping our stakeholders build a shared language and a data‑driven culture so the entire organization can make smarter, more confident decisions.
What do you love most about the work you do at Corbin Advisors?
What I enjoy most about working at Corbin is the opportunity that comes with being part of a growing organization. The environment consistently challenges me and pushes me beyond my comfort zone in ways that larger, more siloed companies never did.
At Corbin, the boundaries are less rigid, and everyone’s contributions truly matter. There is meaningful whitespace to explore, and the freedom to be creative in how we solve problems and build for the future. It is energizing to work in a place where you can see the direct impact of your ideas and play a real role in shaping the direction of the company.
In 2025, you were recognized with Unsung Hero Award for consistently delivering above expectations. What inspires you?
I take very seriously the responsibility of protecting and strengthening Corbin’s growth for the long term. I want every person here to have the opportunity to succeed, thrive, and build a meaningful career. That commitment motivates me to step in wherever I can help move the organization forward, no matter what form that support takes.
What‘s the best advice you would give to someone who is just starting their career or looking at Corbin Advisors for their first career opportunity?
