Inside The Buy-Side®

Media and News

Rebecca Corbin, Founder and CEO of Corbin Advisors was featured on Bloomberg Radio’s Bloomberg Businessweek show to discuss second-quarter earnings expectations on June 23, 2022. Rebecca joined hosts Tim Stenovec and Katie Greifeld for the 15-minute interview, which included an early look at findings from the upcoming Q2’22 Inside The Buy-Side® Earnings Primer®, to be published on July 14.

With downbeat sentiment looming since December 2020, she discussed the current period of uncertainty, despite continued growth.

“Analysts are typically more reactive to times like these, in which things are moving very fluidly,” Ms. Corbin said.

While we are going to see continued uncertainty, investors are draconian, she noted, leading to a dichotomy of performance for the first time in six quarters.

“It is going to be very choppy through the remainder of the year,” Rebecca said, adding that January of 2023 will be where these expectations can be reset. “Investors just need certainty. The equity markets will decouple from the economic performance.”
