Corbin\’s Head of ESG Advisory Practice, Leahruth Jemilo, moderated a panel at the 2021 Canadian Investor Relations Institute (CIRI)\’s virtual conference that explored the ever-evolving ESG landscape and strategies for effective investor communication.
Selected key findings shared from Corbin’s recent Voice of Investor® and Corporate ESG surveys include:
- 56% of investors believe that companies that integrate ESG into their business strategy will outperform over the long-term
- 95% of issuers note their management team considers ESG at least “somewhat important” to the company’s long-term success, with 62% asserting it is “very important” or “critical”
- Importantly, a growing number of ecosystem participants – including ratings agencies and portfolio managers, emphasize the importance of companies drawing a clear connection between long-term value creation and their sustainability strategy.
The virtual panel addressed ESG from the vantage points of rating agencies and asset managers to understand how these different stakeholders interact, and how to most effectively communicate ESG performance to the market.
