John joined Corbin in September 2017 as marketing director. Prior to Corbin, John spent 15+ years in progressively responsible creative and marketing roles in higher education, having worked at Boston University, the University of Southern California and most recently at the University of Connecticut. Throughout his career, John has proven himself to be a trusted advisor on all types of marketing endeavors, directly conceptualizing and managing many of them. John’s contributions have made an impact on all areas of university business, from student recruitment to fundraising and donor outreach to strategic branding campaigns.
While at USC, served as a key leader of the communications team, providing marketing expertise and support to senior leadership for a $6 billion fundraising campaign. John oversaw the design vision and creative aspects of the campaign marketing, and project managed all print and web communications.
Most recently, John served as director of strategic marketing services at UConn, where he also took on responsibility for all marketing communications to support the university’s research enterprise. John also played a major role in streamlining communications workflow in a fast-changing media environment and helped elevate the communications quality and overall visibility of the UConn brand.
John has an MBA from Boston University and a BFA from Suffolk University. Outside of the office, John enjoys spending time with his family and exploring what Connecticut has to offer. John grew up in Massachusetts and has been a Boston sports fan all his life.
